Nancy Wynn is an artist, designer and educator. She has received national awards for print and web graphics, is affiliated with visiting artists & mentoring programs and her artwork has been exhibited nationally and internationally. Nancy's publications include; “Image Making and Meaning: Educational Benefits of Studying Design in the 21st Century.” Forum on Public Policy, Summer 2007 Edition. Oxford University Press. “A ‘Real’ Undergraduate Design Education” in The International Journal of Learning, Volume 13, 2006; and three essays in National Graduate Seminar, Public Strategies: Public Art and Public Space, 1998.

Recent accolades include her work being exhibited during both the Democratic and Republican Conventions at the Denver Art Museum and the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis. This work will be installed in New York City at AIGA's National Design Center from 9/11 to 10/24 2008.

Nancy's professional experience began in 1986, working for various Connecticut design firms over the years and then moving to a Fortune 500 insurance company. In 1993, she started her own design firm, Nancy E. Wynn Studio, and successfully built her business over the past fourteen years. Her academic career began in 1995, initially at The University of Connecticut and at Manchester Community College where she taught graphic design and digital media classes, career development and various Macintosh software classes. From 2000–2007, Nancy was a full-time Assistant Professor of Visual Communication Design at the Hartford Art School, University of Hartford teaching classes in digital media, visual communication design and foundations.

Her artwork is included in the contemporary art collection at the William Benton Museum of Art and she was nominated for the Ernest A. Lynton Award for Faculty Professional Service and Academic Outreach 2004. She was the founder and creative director of Civic Design (in 2001), and is a founding member of the Center for Integrated Design (CID) at the University of Hartford (in 2003). Both Civic Design and CID specialize in Experiential learning and established a successful commitment to the Hartford community.

Presently, Ms. Wynn is vice president of bobcopy, an advertising and marketing firm in Glastonbury, Connecticut, that her and her husband run together. Please visit the bobcopy website for more information.

Nancy is also the chairman of the board overseeing, a seven-year-old downtown Hartford, Connecticut fine art gallery, Clare Gallery. The Gallery’s mission is to exhibit artwork that emphasizes world religious or interfaith themes, as well as social justice themes, either on a global or local level. The Gallery is also committed to education and regularly has community lectures accompanying their exhibitions.

Nancy Wynn received her BFA from The University of Connecticut in Graphic Design, studied at The Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in 1984 and completed her MFA in photography from The Hartford Art School.
