Freshman Foundation 2-D introduces a student to the fundamentals of two dimensional design. An in-depth study of all the elements and principles of design are completed by course end. Students are encouraged to experiment with materials investigating the varied proprieties of media. The computer is utilized, for one project, introducing the concept of "technology as tool or media." How design is an integral part of all art and our culture is discussed.
